Three useful moves
AI Lab handles the repetitive setup while keeping every important action visible and under your control.
Use the normal desktop installer. Node.js is already included in the Windows and macOS builds.
Pick a pinned tool in the local dashboard. AI Lab shows what it needs before anything changes.
Your tools run on local routes, keep durable data, and remain available without a remote management service.
What AI Lab is
AI Lab brings selected open tools into one desktop experience. It checks the local runtime, keeps configuration in one place, and explains problems in ordinary language.
The workspace
No hidden launcher magic: status, resource use, providers, ports, and app actions remain visible.
PRIVATE AND LOCAL
Chat with models running on your computer.
RunningBuild dependable workflows for tools and data.
ReadyConnect devices, APIs, and services visually.
ReadyThe local shelf
Every runnable entry is version-pinned and reviewed for its local data, ports, persistence, and lifecycle.
A focused chat workspace for local models.
Visual workflows connecting tools and data.
Flows for devices, APIs, and services.
An experimental plugin-based agent harness.
Listed but deliberately paused to protect a separate installation.
Local by design
The dashboard binds to your computer. Apps receive only the routes and credentials you configure. AI Lab never mounts the Podman or Docker socket into ordinary apps.

Both installers include the launcher runtime. Podman Desktop is required for container apps and remains a separate, user-approved installation.
The Windows installer is unsigned. The macOS build is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. Clean-machine, full lifecycle, offline, and production-signing gates are incomplete. Ask your IT team before installing on a managed device.

Download disk image Ad-hoc signed, not notarizedArchitecture-independent npm package. Requires Node.js 20 or newer and Podman installed separately.
Download package Install with npm; not a native desktop packageBefore you install
No. The launcher and dashboard run on your computer. Individual apps use only the local, LAN, or cloud model provider routes that you configure.
No. AI Lab checks whether Podman is ready and explains what is missing. Creating or starting a Podman machine requires your action.
Launcher updates do not update or remove containers, images, models, credentials, or named volumes. Updates are never downloaded or installed silently.
